Hihi beautiful people,
So its been a while here….and not wanting to entirely go into details of me getting sucked into a whole lot of life situations and dramas, I’d like to say “I’m still here!”#smile…
I have come to a better understanding that regardless of the happenings of life, who or what we are is who or what we are, nothing really changes it…so with all water gone under the bridge I am still “Vathiswa by Hester “,a lover and appreciator of all things beautiful!
As promised upon the introduction of this blog that it’ll showcase diverse personal styles I appreciate, please meet my dear beautiful friend of over ten years (and still counting)Dammie Alabi ,who is the Creative director of Xstabel designs,an interior decorating outfit,a plus-sized fashion enthusiast and newly self-acclaimed Afrocentric.
Dammie recently went on a short vacation to Maseru in the Lesotho Kingdom of Southern Africa and was deliberate in the search for fashion pieces and accessories to help put together her new Style….what with her one an half year old TWA,I say;she sure does rock the Afrocentric look well!
As we go through life, let us NOT be passive, let us seek, express passionately and deliberately… Life has proven to yield when given a hard push or shove!#Be deliberate.
…So I did put up a post a day after my last one…added new photos to showcase designs made by VbH,my label..and Alas!I couldn’t find it on the list of published posts nor that of local drafts…#phew..all that hard work and racking of brain for proper words and adjectives for nothing!?..lol..
Anyways, its been a whole week of inward reflections for me putting all things into perspectives…I realized we all crave validation in some sort of ways/like I craved (and still do) my site been viewed and followed by you all:)/to simply jeer us into achieving all we truly desire to. As we look outward we also look inwards. When we do find some treasures within;allow it reflect on the outside….aso ni ewá òde mi..Style is a true reflection of an inward beauty..that is the message my label seeks to re-affirm.
…Hello, its been how many weeks now that I started this blog and I’m almost wishing I didn’t…#sigh,#lol.. Thoughts of “can I really do this” overwhelming me..#smile..but I guess with every new journey, there’s always a questioning thought that comes to mind..and as I am one to persevere, I am back to continue from where I left off..expressing and sharing my fashion interests, flair and creativity with you..
On that note, I’ll like to tell you about my personal style. I am a lover of of #classic ,#timeless pieces, and this reflects in my daily outfits and occasional ensembles. Not one to be swayed by fads and trends I stick to buying timeless pieces which I can always infuse with new trends and voila…a stylish look is created!
So you are probably wondering at the meaning of Vathiswa…….especially because I’m Nigerian. It is a South African Xhosa name that translates “being clothed”…..inspired by my five year sojourn in this beautiful land.
Its people, its culture, and diversities sparked up in me a keen interest for the world of fashion, style, and art. Indeed, South Africa is beautiful and its people colourful……*smiles*
Please join me as I share with you my imbibed sense of style, creativity, and flare for fashion……
La bella vida!
